The Crystal Order was founded on April 20th, 2005 as a balancing force to the Technocratic Union. It's founder saw how the Union had gotten away from a guiding influence and became something more controlling, and thought it was time for something new. The Crystal Order is the something new, formed from the Crystal Amalgam, and the Union Agents that made it up, they became the core of the Crystal Order.

Even though the original Order members came from the Union, the Crystal Order is not a copy of the Technocratic Union. They have picked up their own philosophy and approach to magic, something that allows for both the scientific and the mystical to exist side by side. They are willing to dare, willing to try, willing to make advances in science and/or the mystical to help the world continue to move forward. A balance does not mean stasis.

In the past the Order was content to just sit in the shadows and watch, serving as a policing force and protecting places from the pine sap to amber hold of the Union. With the recent war with the Union, however the Order has stepped up to stand in the Union's place. Taking a more active role in policing the supernatural and looking into mortal matters when the regular channels are stymied. Though in 3040, they were appointed by Asheen to be the official policing force of the Supernatural in all of America.

Members of the Crystal Order follow the Crystal Way. The Crystal Way is the laws that govern the Crystal Order. Just as the Union has it's precepts, and the Traditions have their laws, so too does the Crystal Order. These help define the Order's role in things, and to guide the steps of those who join the Order. There may be incidents that require acting outside of the laws, or in a manner that goes against the laws, this is understood that it can sometimes happen, but explinations are definetly expected and punishment may follow.

The Crystal Order does not have Conventions or Traditions, though their teachings come from all over. They are divided by Divisions, and sub-divisions, and they have Philosophies. The Nine Philosophies of Magical Studies. Each one focusing on a specific sphere. Like the Union, the Crystal Order has no specific set spheres or philisophies attached to any one Division. It is personal preference, what each one feels will help them achieve their goals the best. Though certain philosophies fit best in certain Divisions.

The Crystal Order is led from two main "towers" The original, Crystal Tower located in Asheville, and the newer Jade Tower in Korea. Though all gathering places for the Crystal Order are called Towers, they don't always appear like Towers. Each tower has Divisional heads and one head who is like the CEO, these CEO's answer to the heads of the Crystal and Jade Towers, and their say is final. The current head of the Crystal Tower is Kyle Blake, while the current head of the Jade Tower is Rheem Hwan Dong (Hwan Dong Rheem, in the Western fashion). The current liason to the Senate is Shari Kindes.
